Toyota Etios Liva Style

Toyota Etios Liva is an insightfully designed and supremely attractive hatchback. It is neither too curvaceous nor too muscular – but strikes just the perfect balance! Its frontage is highlighted by a sleek yet bold grille that has a brilliant chrome finish to it. The front fog lamps and intermittent wiper adds to the appeal. Toyota has kept the bumpers, door handles and the Outside Rear-View Mirrors (ORVMs) of the same colour as the body and this underscores the visual delight that the car generates. The wing mirrors come with built-in turn indicators that pronounce the marriage of style and functionality.

The sleek, fin-patterned rear combination lamps add to the dynamic look of the automobile. The blacked-out B-pillar and the sturdy yet stylish 12-spoke alloys give it a dash of sportiness. Liva comes equipped with a foldable, roof-mounted antenna and the chrome garnish on its boot spices it even more. Dimensionally, Toyota Etios Liva measures 3.78 m in length, 1.7 m in width and is 1.51 m high.

Toyota Etios Liva Space

The cabin of the Etios Liva hatch is identical to the sedan sibling as both share the same platform. The car now looks less bland than the earlier model with dual-toned interiors including the dashboard which features ivory black colour scheme. The dashboard now also features new optitron speedometer which is a combination of digital tachometer as well as analog speedometer with beautiful graphic illumination.

The seats gets new beige finished fabric upholstery while the rear seats are foldable to spare more room for luggage. Even with the reduced wheelbase, the car is able to absorb 5 adult occupants. Interior room is not only one of the best in its class but also equal to some of the c-segment sedans, especially the rear seats which are way ahead of the rival Swift. There is enough room for head and knees but a bit more cushioning could have been better. Though the thigh support is nice, the back support was not that good enough. The boot space at 251L is decent enough for family luggage while the loading bay could have been slightly lower for easy load/unload.

The first thing that catches the attention is the sporty 3-spoke steering wheel which is one of the best in its class. There mounted controls are super light while the leather stitching gives a premium feel. The thick and flat bottomed steering is tilt adjustable but the range is quite limited. The fit and finish inside the cabin has much improved from the predecessor. The list of equipment has also been increased to make it stand shoulder to shoulder to its rivals. The new Etios Liva features height adjustable driver seat, cooled glove box, rear removable headrests and remote fuel-lid opener.

The car comes with manual air conditioning and non-touchscreen infotainment which is pretty disappointing looking at what the contemporaries are offering. However, the carmaker has given a music player which allows USB, Bluetooth and Aux-in connectivity. Another good thing is that there are plenty of storage spaces across the cabin which makes it one of the best in its class. There are seat back pockets, 7 bottle holders and front and rear door pockets for storing all those knick knacks. What is better this time around is the operability as the switchgear and controls are clutter free. However, the overall cabin still needs improvement if we look from what contemporaries such as Ford Figo and Hyundai Grand i10 are offering. For more info on Toyota Etios Liva visit
